Kevin Breckman – Owner/Operator & Captain
Kevin wears many hats as an owner/operator of Sea Dragon, as well as the primary captain and a dive instructor. Kevin started teaching diving in 1978 through NASDS. He became a SSI and NAUI Instructor in 1982 and has certified several thousand students in his career. One of these students was the love of his life, Jan, whom he met in 1980. Together they became a teaching duo and flocked to Florida where they worked in the dive industry for 13 years before heading back to Canada. When in Florida, Kevin became a Captain. Kevin held the 50 tonne Masters US and 200 tonne limited captain’s licences in Florida. Currently he operates under a CTC 60 tonne Masters license. We asked Kevin what the favourite part of his career has been. In keen reflection he replied “My favourite part has really been all of it, every aspect. However, I do have a soft spot for new divers. I love to see the excitement as they first start diving and then watch how they develop and move on to enjoy the sport with confidence.”
Jan Breckman – Owner/Operator & Dive Instructor
Jan has been a long time diver. She first started diving in 1980, then became involved in the diving industry almost immediately. Jan was certified as an instructor in her hometown of Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1982. She proceeded to work in the scuba industry and teach diving in Manitoba and British Columbia for a few years, then moved to sunny Florida. Kevin and Jan spent 13 wonderful years in Florida as charter boat owners/operators, dive store owners, and also working as instructors. Eventually returning to BC with their three children, Jan and Kevin brought their love of diving home… and we’re lucky they did! Jan is a board member of the Dive Industry Association of British Columbia and is active in the BC diving community. Read more about Jan and Kevin on About Us.
Deon – Manager & Instructor
Originally from South Africa, Deon has recently been reunited with Sea Dragon Charters after a long stint of dive travel and working abroad; the Caribbean, Red Sea, Halifax, Montreal, and now back to BC. Deon first started diving when entering the Military in 1992, and has been teaching diving since 2006. Deon is a PADI Master Instructor, Sidemount Instructor, Advanced Wreck Instructor, and Ice Diving Instructor to name a few. You’ll have to ask him about the rest over a beer, because it’ll probably take that long! Clearly Deon’s passion is diving (specifically cave & wreck), but he also enjoys other hobbies like skydiving and rock climbing. We’re delighted he’s chosen to move back to BC and be part of the Sea Dragon team.

Over her many years of scuba, she has only been warm water diving in Mexico, Roatan, and Fiji. Bali on her to do list for 2016. Christina prefers diving in the colder beautiful waters of Canada. One of her fondest memories are two week long liveaboard trips diving in the Queen Charlotte Islands. Christina lives in Squamish and has worked for Sea Dragon since 2013. She plans many more years of cold water diving in Howe Sound with Sea Dragon.
